Pedestrian Struck By Tractor Trailer On I-95 In Virginia (Update)

A pedestrian was hospitalized in serious condition after being struck by a tractor trailer on Interstate 95 in Virginia Monday morning, April 1, police said.

The victim was a driver who had been standing outside of their disabled vehicle around 8:45 a.m. on the southbound side, Virginia State Police said.

According to the VDOT, the crash happened in Triangle. Backups were approximately 10 miles long.

The striking vehicle remained on scene while the victim was taken to Mary Washington Hospital, and later flown to the VCU Medical Center in Richmond.
